David Light, PT, DPT, MTC

David has been a Physical Therapist for eleven years and has practiced in a wide variety of settings. He has created and taught continuing education courses and has developed and implemented all of Regional’s operations. He is constantly focused on finding new ways to improve both patient care and delivery. David attained post professional training as a Certified Manual Therapist, which allows the practice to focus on hands-on skilled care as well as proper exercise. David and Kelley purchased Regional Physiotherapy in 2008 and have encouraged a strong community presence and patient focused care.

Kelley Light, PT

Kelley is a native to the area and has been practicing physical therapy for 13 years in both neurological and orthopedic settings. A graduate of the University of Florida and the University of St. Augustine with a Masters of Physical Therapy Degree, she also has post-graduate specialized training and a Vestibular Therapy Certification from Emory University. Kelley is actively involved with Regional as the Medical Liaison ensuring communication between referring physicians and promoting community outreach. Her and David have been together since college and enjoy spending their free time with their two children.

Paul Young, PT, DPT

Dr. Young began his career as an Athletic Trainer and has been in the local medical community for the past ten years. He provided sports medicine coverage for Wellington High School for over six years and is very familiar with injuries and treatment related to various orthopedic conditions. He then advanced his training with the highly respected University of St. Augustine attaining a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He is highly skilled as a manual therapist and prides himself in “identifying the root cause of the problem.”

Edwin David, PTA

Edwin David has been practicing physical therapy in outpatient and inpatient facilities for over 13 years treating patients with sprain/strains, sports injuries, traumatic injuries, and post surgical procedures. He graduated from The Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science, and then advanced his education at Broward College as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Ed’s experience in physical therapy goes beyond the clinical setting. Ed’s vast professional career has included both clinical and administrative titles. As a Workers Comp Coordinator, he specialized in the treatment of workers compensation patients and administering the work comp program. He also served as a Clinic Director where he managed the day to day operations of an outpatient physical therapy clinic while treating a variety of orthopedic pathologies. Ed’s experiences in both clinical and administration roles has developed him in to a “well rounded” professional in the health care industry.

Ashley L’Homme, PTA

Ashley graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors of Science in psychology. She attended South University for her Physical Therapy Assistant degree, and while in school began working with Regional as an office manager. She has worked in both a clinical and clerical capacity with Regional over the past 2 years and is extremely knowledgeable with outpatient rehabilitation insurance issues. Ashley’s psychology training allows her to grasp the complexities of multifaceted patient presentations, ensuring that each client interaction is approached with the highest level of professionalism.

Leah Sweat, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy

Leah graduated from The University of Saint Augustine with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and the Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition, Food, and Exercise Science.  Before becoming a medical professional, Leah taught elementary and middle school science, cultivating her passion for instruction.  Now, Leah especially enjoys educating her patients on their injuries, treatment plan, and expected outcomes.  Leah has worked in numerous capacities for Regional Physiotherapy Centre and is involved in both the administration and clinical delivery for the Okeechobee office.

Darlene Calooy, PTA

Darlene has been practicing as a physical therapist assistant for 13 years. A graduate of South University, she enjoys working in the outpatient setting treating adult, adolescent and geriatric population.Prior to relocating to the United States, Darlene graduated with a B.S. Degree in Psychology from the Philippines in 1991 and worked as an office manager with a local psychiatrist for 7 years.  With her diverse clinical experience, Darlene uses her skills in psychology and physical therapy to motivate, educate and rehabilitate her patients so they can return to work and previous level of function.
